SFSTA Community Partnerships and Charitable Affiliations
Statement of Purpose: SFSTA Board of Directors’ approach towards charitable giving is flexible to allow for changes and updates that reflect the diversity of SFSTA’s membership and the changes in our community.
When evaluating each charity certain qualifications are reviewed. Some of the aspects of a charitable organization that are considered include, but are not limited to:
- Impact of the organization in question to our community of Equity Traders
- Impact of the organization in question to our local Bay Area communities
- Level of direct volunteer participation within our active SFSTA membership
- Significance that a contribution will have for the organization in question/
how far our money will go?
Charitable organizations proudly supported!
At Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, we inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Our mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin. Every week, over 53,000 households count on us for food assistance. 60% of what we distribute to them is fresh fruit and vegetables.
The San Francisco Firefighter’s Toy Program is the cities largest and the nation’s oldest program of its kind. Since 1949, it has evolved from a few firefighters repairing broken toys and bikes for 15 families to, in 2021, 300 firefighters and friends volunteering their time to distribute over 200,000 toys to more than 40,000 disadvantaged children.
In the spirit of the Gospel, inspired by the joy and compassion of Francis and Clare of Assisi, in solidarity with all who hunger and thirst for justice and peace, and together with those we serve, our mission is to feed, heal, shelter, clothe, lift the spirits of those in need, and create a society in which all persons flourish.
